We currently offer four categories of membership:
Full membership is for individuals who are currently working as financial counsellors, and have the
appropriate qualification, or are diploma qualified and have the appropriate experience and CPD
All members MUST agree to abide by the Australian Financial Counselling Code of Ethical Practice AND
agree to abide by relevant state/territory rules.
Associate membership is open to individuals who are studying or have completed the diploma, but don’t fulfil the Full membership requirements
Affiliate membership is for those who are not working as financial counsellors, or are working in a similar field.
Agency Membership is for organisations who employ financial counsellors or are associated with financial counselling and share a mutual interest in the work undertaken by the FCRC. These may include community law organisations, problem gambling services and academic institutions.
Each Agency member may appoint an Agency Representative. This representative is encouraged to attend the bi-monthly Agency Managers Meeting, to discuss key issues associated within the sector.
FCRC Individual Membership (Full and Associate) is dependent on compliance with our Continuous Professional Development and Supervision programmes. The programmes pave the way for best practice service delivery and provide opportunities for members to continually improve and broaden their skills.
Our Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program offers a series of learning sessions that members can attend (or watch live recordings) to gain points towards their professional development requirement.
Our Professional Supervision framework aims to engender trust between client and counsellor, and provide our members with the opportunity to extend their knowledge, skill set and awareness.
