Chief Executive Officer: Richard Foster

Richard's career began in the legal profession where he worked for some of Australia's largest banks and finance companies for almost ten years. He has also been involved with programs protecting the legal rights of young people, and worked with the Energy and Water Ombudsman (Victoria) during 2006 and 2007. In 2007, Richard commenced working in Social Advocacy with Kildonan UnitingCare, a key community agency covering Melbourne's northern suburbs. He has been the FCRC's Chief Executive Officer since early 2009.
Richard is a member of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals and sits on the Essential Services Commission's Consumer Consultative Committee, ASIC's Regional Liaison Committee, the Executive Committee of the Consumers' Federation of Australia, South East Water's Customer Consultative Commitee, and the Policy Advisory Group to the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria. He is also the Deputy Chair of the Ross House Association, which operates a building to house community organisations in the Melbourne CBD, co-Chairs the Federation of Community Legal Centres' Civil Law Working Group, and currently represents Victoria on the Council of the Australian Financial Counselling and Credit Reform Assocation.
Chair: Nick Trewhella
Nick began his career as a teacher but gravitated to the community sector in the early 1990s when he began work as a Consumer Support Worker with the then Broadmeadows Community Health Service. At the height of the recession of the early 90s, Nick completed his training in both Consumer Support and Financial Counselling, and was then employed as a Financial Counsellor with the same service.
Following a funding cut, Nick took his skills to Geelong where he progressed to management level, and later to another senior role in Melbourne's western suburbs.
Returning to his passion for advocacy, Nick has served on the Board of the FCRC for more than six years, and has been its Chairperson since January 2009.
Nick is married with four children, and enjoys toying with computers and working on his newly acquired property near peaceful Daylesford.
