FCRC is proud to announce a unique opportunity!
ICAN Learn in partnership with CBA is providing scholarships for students from ethnic or multicultural, non-English speaking backgrounds to undertake the Financial literacy skill set (CHCSS00077) and the diploma of financial counselling (CHC51115) as one course.
ICAN Learn, a new social enterprise Registered Training Organisation formed to support the financial counselling and capability sector, is keen to hear from agencies providing services to multicultural clients that may have multicultural staff who are keen and able to undertake this training. In the long term it will enable agencies providing long term assistance to multicultural clients in financial difficulty to consider setting up their own financial counselling and financial capability programs.
To express interest in being part of this program, please go to http://www.icanlearn.edu.au , click on ‘Diploma’, click on ‘Multi Cultural Scholarship’ and complete the on line Expression of Interest form.
The course commences in October 2017, so be quick! Further enquiries, please email Bernadette Pasco at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Indigenous Financial Counselling Mentorship Program
In addition to the scholarship, ICAN Learn also conducts an Indigenous Financial Counselling Mentorship program for Indigenous students. Information about the IFCMP can be found here: https://icanlearn.edu.au/courses/indigenous-financial-counselling-mentorship-program/
Victorian Indigenous people are invited to apply. All travel costs and accommodation for the course is paid for by ABStudy; it’s run in nine one-week blocks. The course is held in Cairns and will commence in October. Course inquiry forms are online and can be submitted electronically. Indigenous people who want to apply must be employed in an agency, preferably full time, but at least 3 days per week, that has capacity to support financial counselling learning.
